The #Vday10k challenge will run through the month of February when you’ll be able to donate your distance to a variety of United Nations Foundation campaigns. The participating campaigns include Girl Up, where your miles will help a teen girl in a developing country safely attend school, Nothing but Nets where you will help protect a family from malaria, and Shot@Life where your miles will help to provide life-saving vaccines to children around the world that need it most.

All this month, the UN Foundation has been working with a social good app called Charity Miles to help raise money through exercise. It’s called the #VDay10K and it’s a brilliant campaign to help those who need it while we run or ride a bike! (via The Pearl in the Oyster: Exercise for a good cause!)

Love your smartphone? Me, too. Early in February, the UN Foundation announced its new partnership with Charity Miles, a free smartphone app that allows you to earn money for charity while exercising to improve your health. The user can choose to support one of 17 charities available in the app. A group of sponsors will then donate, to the selected charity, 25 cents for every mile you run or walk and 10 cents for every mile you bike. Lee and I are mall walking champions! We meet up almost every weekend for a little exercise and a lot of catching up. I recently learned about a cool social good fitness app that will allow us to earn money for social organizations at the same time! Using Charity Miles makes our mall walking a trifecta event: Fun and Fitness for us and Funds for a charity! Right now we want to share Charity Miles with you; an amazing app and exciting opportunity to raise money for some of your favorite United Nations Foundation charities just by getting your daily exercise!! (via Blog)

As part of the Global Team of 200, we are helping the UN Foundation spread the word about the #VDay10k campaign to raise 10k. The UN Foundation partnered with Charity Miles during the month of February where the miles logged could be donated to campaigns specific to the Foundation. These campaigns include Girl Up, Nothing But Nets, and Shot@Life. Charity Miles is a free app available on both the iPhone and Android markets. In February Charity Miles donated 25 cents for every mile one walked or ran and donated 10 cents for every mile biked. (via Perfectly Random Thoughts From an Imperfect, Crabby Mama: Miles for Good)

The way this works is simple! For every mile you log walking or running on the Charity Miles app {which can be easily downloaded to your smart phone device} 25 cents will be donated to charity. For every mile you log biking, 10 cents will be donated. Doing something healthy for yourself never paid off so big! Spread the word and download the Charity Miles app and start logging those miles! It’s all for social good :) (via Join Charity Miles and the UN Foundation and Team Up to Raise $10K | Textbook Mommy)

My Charity Miles App is the inspiration to keep going on my run at this point because I set the personal goal not of distance, but to provide one child with a vaccine with my run. (via Charity Miles)

How would you like to help raise 10K just by doing your daily activities, such as walking your kid to school, or playing at the park? (via McKinney Mommas: Walk It Forward, People! UN Foundation & Charity Miles #VDay10k)
