One of my favorite things about our neighborhood is this great park we have within walking distance. It has a playground, a kiddie pool, a fishing spot, scenic walking paths and more! We are truly blessed to have such an awesome, free resource in our community and it is easy to overlook the fact that many people do not have a place like ours. There are more than 5.5 million children worldwide who are used for forced labor and child trafficking. Human trafficking has been reported in all 50 of the United States. The victims suffer from physical, emotional and sexual abuse. This horrific practice can include prostitution, pornography, and sex tourism as well as labor for domestic service, factory or construction work, and migrant farming.

Please check out all of their opportunities to give to donate any amount to help purchase an acre of land, provide birth supplies & emergency transportation to over 2000 Ugandan women, provide solar power for the birth house & laboratory or a place to call home. Oxfam America – World Food Day is coming up on October 16th 2012.  It’s a really great cause and all you have to do to join in is have a dinner and have a conversation. Oxfam America wants you to talk with your dinner guests about where your food comes from, who cultivates it, and how you can take personal actions that will make the food system more just and sustainable.

If you are able to use your social media to influence others, why not influence them to do good?
